Why Teaching Boys Etiquette Is More Than Just Good Manners By Amber Sisson, Etiquette Consultant
At Sweet TeA Etiquette, we’ve launched Man Up: The Gentleman Code: Confidence, Class & Character—a course designed specifically for boys to learn what it truly means to be a modern gentleman.
Why does this matter?
Because boys today are surrounded by a culture that often glorifies rebellion over responsibility, and trend over timeless values. But good manners, strong character, and a respectful presence never go out of style. Conduct is directly ties to our character and our ability to be confident in any setting.
What We Teach
In our two-hour class, boys will explore:
The history of gentlemanly behavior (yes, even knights had code!)
Why respect, grooming, and presence still open doors today
The art of a good first impression—through eye contact, posture, and style
The power of appropriate dress (because baggy pants and hoodies are so yesterday)
How to interact respectfully with parents, peers, and even dates
This isn’t just a “manners class”—it’s a masterclass in how to show up in the world with confidence, kindness, and credibility.
Man Up: The Gentlemen Code
We're not raising boys to blend in—we're helping them stand out for all the right reasons. Whether it's opening a door, learning how to iron a shirt, or making respectful conversation, these are life skills that shape future leaders, husbands, and role models.
So the next time you hear someone scoff at etiquette, ask them this:
Isn't it time we taught boys how to carry themselves with purpose, not just presence?
We believe it is. And we’d be honored to help your son discover just how powerful a gentleman can be.
